Series Description:

This CBS dramatic series opened with "Jezebel" starring Betty Davis
on Saturday, March 30, 1946. The series continued offering such
stellar productions as "Stagecoach" with Randolph Scott, "The Maltese
Falcon" with Humphrey Bogart, "Young Mr. Lincoln" with Henry Fonda,
and "Keys of the Kingdom" with Gregory Peck.

The productions were adapted from their screen versions by Frank
Wilson and directed by Dee Englebock. Original movie casts were used
wherever possible. Alternately, other big name actors were hired to
fill in.

The series, sponsored by E.R. Squibb and Sons, only aired for one
nine month season. It's half-hour dramas, although decent adaptations
of the movies, were not able to complete with the hour-long ones by
The Lux Radio Theatre or The Screen Guild Players.
